One of my goals for Term 3 is to try to stay on task I will do this by not talking to people when they talk to me.

Another one of my goals is to try to learn in french and to learn how to count to twenty by the end of the term I will do this by paying more attention in class.

My goal for this Term is to keep improving my place in cross-country I will do this by not walking and not stopping.

In Maths we have been doing work on percentages. To find a percentage from a change in a number we needed to find the change in the two different numbers and then divide by the original number and then multiply the answer by 100 and then simplify the answer to two or three decimal places, here’s an example: 134 changed to  118 118-134=-16 divided by  134=11.940 percent.

This term we did science fair for my one my question was to find What  balance between ice and water and the substances that melt ice. My hypothesis was that the salt will melt the ice the fastest  because of the freezing point of water is zero degrees (-32 fahrenheit) and it is also the melting point of ice so when a substance like salt is added the molecules can’t grab hold of each other as well and fall apart back to water. My hypothesis wasnt correct the still water was the fastest I think because all the water surrounding it was a higher temperature so it melted faster. The second fastest was the salt and then the dishwashing liquid and then the ice with nothing on it at last place.

• This week in maths I learnt how do square roots on using decimals. I also learnt how to multiply fractions heres an example 2/3 x 5/8=10/24 simplified 5/12.
• This week we  needed to write a draft report on elephants but first we needed to pick out some notes that the teacher gave us and then we needed to put them into paragraphs and write topic sentences my ones arent very good. Then the teacher gave us a double-sided piece of paper on cheetahs which we needed to write notes with and then write some topics sentences and then go see if she approved if she did we could start our drat report but if she didn’t we would have to change it.
• This week we have been doing dialog punctuation. In our writing we have been doing speech marks and commas I have finished all our work now     

My goal for this week is to get my draft report finished to do this I will work hard in the time im given to finish it I will know I have finished it when I don’t have to do any more work on it.

• This week in maths I learnt how  to do bedmas. Bedmas stands for B.rackets, E.xponents (powers), D.ivision, M.ultiplication, A.dition and S.ubtraction.
• Today we are doing art because it is our tech art. this week in art we are painting cats and a saying to go with the paintings my one is a cat in gloves catches no mice.
• This week we have been learning what dialog punctuation is. Dialog punctuation is speech marks and commas for example Johnny said to Jimmy “How about we go to you house on saturday.”                                 Jimmy replied “Sounds like a plan to me.”    
• This week in maths we also learnt about comparing fractions comparing fractions is seeing what one was bigger than the other. Comparing fractions is like finding  out which one is bigger than the other heres an example which is bigger 1/5 or 2/10 the answer is that there both equal.

My goal for next week is to finish my book I will do this by reading every day i will know I have achieved this when I have finished my book.

• This week we went to totara springs for band camp and learnt a whole lot of songs a few of them are Geronimo, popcorn, camptown races, hot cross buns, the saints go marching in, royal crown march, band room boogie and power rock. Geronimo is an old american indian war song.
• This week we did tech arts this was our first art lesson for tech arts we need to draw cats and a saying to go with the picture my one is a cat in gloves will never catch a mouse.
• This week I did my book review on Black Beauty
• This week in maths we needed to do some work on multiplying decimals

• This week we designed our food for tech arts.
• This week koro died and he had his funeral.
• This week we did a practice for science fair and it was about paper darts and we needed to change the wing design to see what goes the further it turns out the bigger the wings the further it flies.
• This week we had koro’s tramp of the school.
•  This week we learnt geronimo in band even though we were terrible.
• This week we did an explanation on metals and I learnt that gold is a type of metal.
• This week we did jump jam and won the golden rock.
• This week we learnt how to play corner ball it is really fun.   

• This week we started a new tech art cooking this week in cooking I made jacketed potato but I put too much salt in and it tasted like the sea.
• This week I learned how to convert percentages into decimals like 97% =.97.
• This week we have been working on our student led conferences sheets and it needs to be perfect and it’s really hard.

My goal for next week is to have a good holiday and easter and hope everyone else has a good one to. I am going to achieve this by having as much fun as I can. I will know I have achieved this when I arrive back at school thinking about the great holiday I just had.

I was standing on the edge of the diving board, the sun burning down on my back, while my arms were as stiff as lead. It all started when we went to the pools with our friend and there was a diving board there. Jamie was the first of us to jump off it and then he dared me to do it. So I accepted but only for fifty cents and back at that age if you had fifty cents you felt like you were rich. So the sun kept beaming down, I was starting to burn. I had only been standing up there for five minutes but it felt like eternity. People kept egging me on but I couldn’t do it. I gathered up my wits and then I jumped. The air whistled past my face like I was stuck inside a flute. Then the flute got dropped into the stream, and I started sinking. Suddenly I realised I was under water, sinking, my legs searching for the bottom. I looked down and found it, it was right beneath me, I tried kicking off it but I missed. I was in trouble; l was out of breath and four metres under the water. My lungs started burning like there was a furnace in them. My legs were kicking rapidly, and I found my self above the water gasping for air.

My Marked Work

• This week I learned how to make oblik. oblik is a gooey slime substance that is made out of corn flour and water. If you hit oblik its hard but if you just leave it on your hand it runs through your fingers.
• This week I learned how to do anagrams. Anagrams are words that mean the same as the last word in the sentence heres an example. The the bear walked around naked. So that one would be: The bear walked around bare.
• This week we played with magnets and I learned  that magnets don’t stick to aluminium.
• This week in maths I have been learning how to multiply, divide, subtract and plus negative numbers like -4 x6=-24.
• This week in english I learned how to use commas in my writing.

My goal for next week is to finish my book. I am going to do this by reading every morning and every night before I go to bed. I will know when I have achieved this when I have finished my book.
